Agreement to these terms

By creating an account or using OurSecretPhrase, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What OurSecretPhrase is — and isn't

OurSecretPhrase is a tool that helps you verify you're really talking to someone you've previously paired with, using a secret phrase computed independently on both your devices.

OurSecretPhrase is one layer of protection, not a guarantee. It cannot verify people you haven't paired with, cannot prevent every form of fraud, and depends on you actually checking the phrase and acting on a mismatch. We are not liable for losses resulting from scams, impersonation, or fraud, whether or not OurSecretPhrase was used at the time.

Who can use OurSecretPhrase

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm the information you provide (name, email, phone if given) is accurate.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, revoke the affected device from your Account screen immediately and contact us.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use OurSecretPhrase for anything illegal, or to facilitate fraud or impersonation of someone else.
• Attempt to bypass, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the security of the service.
• Use automated systems to create accounts or pairing sessions at scale.
• Resell or sublicense access to OurSecretPhrase without our written permission.

Plans and payment

Basic is free, permanently, for one connection. Family and Corporate are paid annual plans with more connections, as described on our pricing page. Paid plans, once available for self-service purchase, will renew automatically at the end of each term unless cancelled beforehand; you can cancel anytime from your Account screen or by contacting us, effective at the end of the current paid term.

Intellectual property

OurSecretPhrase's software, design, and branding are our property or licensed to us. Your account data and content (like your profile photo) remain yours — using the service doesn't transfer ownership of it to us.

Disclaimer of warranties

OurSecretPhrase is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OurSecretPhrase and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including financial losses from scams or fraud.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time (see our account deletion page). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
